Frequently Asked Questions
Negotiation Book
- What's the biggest mistake people make in negotiations?
One of the biggest mistakes people make is letting the other side know how important a service or acquisition might be to you. A skilled negotiator will be able to read how badly you want something and use it to their advantage.
- How is this different from other negotiation books?
I'm not from a business school. Nothing I say is based on organizational studies or textbook learning. It's all based on personal experience. And the book is pretty funny.
Latvian Golden Visa Book
- What surprised you most while researching this?
In exploring some fifty-odd countries, I was really surprised to see how good the quality of life was elsewhere. I saw people living in windowless shacks who were obviously happier with their lives than most people living in $2 million houses in Los Angeles. They were taking time to enjoy life and spend time with their friends and families. I also learned that according to the Vision of Humanity website, Latvia is currently the 19th "safest" (Global Peace Index) country in the world, and the USA is number 134, behind Kenya, Lebanon, and Uganda.
- What should I do first if I'm seriously considering this?
Find someone to help you in a territory where you are seeking residency who really seems to know the local rules and regulations. It's hard to know what someone knows, but how quickly they get back to you and how well they are able to communicate with you is very important. Also, I personally recommend residency in a country that is both in the EU and Schengen territories, as this will actually give you access to and residency in twenty-nine different countries.
